ComEd chief to speak at chamber meeting
Anne Pramaggiore, ComEd's president and chief operating officer, will speak to the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce on May 9 at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive.
The event starts with registration and networking at 11:30 a.m. Pramaggiore will talk about ComEd's plans to invest in the utility's distribution system to improve reliability and provide customers with more information about electricity costs and consumption.

Internet furniture retailer gets OK in Frankfort
An Internet-based furniture business looking to house its inventory in Frankfort was granted a special use permit by the village board Monday.
Imelda Macias, owner of Furniture Rack, expects the bulk of her business to be online sales but plans to use about 2,200 square feet of the 11,000-square-foot facility at 9324 Gulfstream Road for a limited walk-up retail business.
