NSW: New Dubbo drug and alcohol clinic operators announced

A new drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic for young offenders has moved a step closer
to opening in Dubbo with the announcement of the operator today.

Special Minister of State JOHN DELLA BOSCA has named the Ted Noffs Foundation as the
successful tenderer for the centre in the central New South Wales city.

The NSW Drug Summit had identified Dubbo as a region in need of the service, for which
the CARR government has set aside $1.6 million over a two-year period to operate.

The clinic will provide residential rehabilitation services to young people aged between
14 and 18 with a drug problem which has brought them into contact with the juvenile justice
system.

Six people can be accommodated at a time, with 36 adolescents expected to undergo the
24-week programs each year.
