For two periods, at least, Adirondack Red Wings coach Barry Melrose would have been able to live with his team's loss to the Utica Devils.
But the third period was unforgivable. Adirondack gave up three goals in the final period to lose to the Devils 7-1 at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
To make things worse, two of the Devils final period goals came when they were a man down.
Kevin Todd scored the first short- handed goal with 6:29 to play. Neil Brady got the second short-handed goal on Wings' goalie Scott King in the final minute.
